There’s a disturbing trend. A lot of TV shows end at :01.
For example, “Top Chef” ends at 11:01, but “The Daily Show” starts at 11:00. If I set the cable box to start “The Daily Show” at 11:00, then I miss the last minute of “Top Chef”. Similarly, “The Colbert Report” frequently ends at 12:01 or 12:02.
It’s a subtle reminder that you’re a captive audience in a monopoly. There’s no logical reason to end a show at :01, other than to inconveniece customers who want to record another show on another channel.
